The International Union of Psychological Science (IUPsyS) commends you for all that you have been doing to respond to the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), which is not restricted by national borders. The psychological challenges are enormous in these unprecedented, extraordinary times. IUPsyS, which turns 131 years old this year, appreciates the roles that you are playing and will continue to play to support people during this pandemic.
As Psychology’s Global Voice, IUPsyS is here to serve you, and through you, humanity. Your organisation is an important part of psychology’s role during this emergency. In precarious times like these, there is a need for coordination of information, and sharing of scarce resources and successful approaches in dealing with the pandemic. IUPsyS is therefore contacting all national psychology organisations to ascertain how your organisation has responded to the pandemic, what your current priorities are, the kind of support needed, and the role psychology should play in contributing to an organised global response to this pandemic. The information will be used to share resources and information and to establish local, regional, and globally relevant best practices in response to COVID-19, as well as inform IUPsyS policy on national, regional and global emergencies.
Thank you for helping psychology serve humanity across the world!
